Hey y'all,
Does anyone have the lyrics and/or tabs for a song on the first Nanci
rarities tape, probably entitled "Roll You Colorado" or "Colorado River?"
If so, please send via private e-mail. Thanks!
Amy M.

Seasons Greetings to Friends of Nanci,
It seems many of you are admirers of Lucinda Williams. In doing some research
on an Austin Christmas tradition, I came across a tidbit of information on
Lucinda that you may enjoy reading about.

Subject: NN: Pat Alger
From: "J. Stephen Robertson" (stever@mindspring.com>
Hi folks! I just pulled out an old album by one of Nanci's frequent
collaborators- Pat Alger. I had almost forgotten just what a good writer
he is. The album is called "True Love & Other Short Stories" and is on
the Sugar Hill label. Nanci provides harmony vocals on a couple of cuts,
and several other big name artists help out on the rest of the album.
The last song on the album- "Blue Highway 29"- always interested me
because Pat's home town and my home town are both located along "Blue
Highway 29" in west central Georgia.
Still hidin' out in the Georgia Pines-
Steve Robertson

Todd,
Your post made me curious so I called Gold Mtn. Mgmt in Nashville.
Found out some interesting stuff:
Unfortunately the European (really only GB and Ireland) tour is over
but -
In January '99 she "Begins rehearsal/pre-production for her new album, and
in April '99 she goes to London to record it." This is a direct quote from
the nice gentleman at Gold Mtn.
2/3/99 appears as a guest for Hootie and the Fish on Austin City Limits.
2/6/99 clearwater Iowa appearance with the Crickets at The Buddy Holly
Festival.
5/15/98 A benefit at the Ryman in Nashville with Guy Clark and Emmylou
(this sounds like a dream show!)
I would lay some pretty good odds she'll be touring sometime in 2000
to support the new record.

Subject: NN: Nanci in Time
From: James_Troiano@umit.maine.edu (James Troiano)
Hi: A fellow John Stewart fan wrote and mentioned that there was a very
favorable review of Nanci in the short takes section of Time Magazine,
Dec. 7. I did not see it and it is probably too late to get it. I
thanked Goldmine for the great Nanci review and informed them that I
was hereby liberating myself from my boycott of Goldmine. Last year
they had a very mean spirited review of her work. The editor thanked me
for the letter and said they are planning to feature Nanci next year in
ther magazine. Please let me know if if there's anybody out there who
saw the Time review. Thanks, JIm Troiano.

Subject: NN: Nanci at the Barbican
From: Bluemooner@aol.com
Hi,
It was lovely to hear the Barbican show recording on radio two last night. I
thought it was excellent, a much better mix of music and talking than the
shows that have been broadcast in previous years.
My father and I were lucky enough to be at both London shows and they were
especially moving for me. I mean on top of the brilliant shows I got some very
special surprises. I've been a fan of Nanci for many years, I've now seen her
13 times and met her a few times. I'm also lucky enough to have a dad who
takes me around to see loads of artists and I've got to meet and get friendly
with Tom Russell over the past few years, who is just the greatest, he
actually dedicated Canadian Whiskey to me on both nights (I was the girl in
the Kerrville shirt on the front row!)! Then on the first night I was lucky
enough to be taken backstage to say hi to everyone back there and to have a
little chat with Nanci and I gave her a couple of things. Anyway, following
this little meeting Nanci dedicated "The Road To Aberdeen" to me on the second
night which, as I'm sure you can all imagine, meant an awful lot to me and is
the main reason I'm sending this message out (I'm not just bragging,
honestly:-)), I'm hoping that someone out there may have recorded the Barbican
show from the 30th of November and could send it to me in exchange for
something. If you can help me please E-mail me privately at the above address.
Thanks:-)
I'm sorry I haven't been able to get this out earlier or send you all a review
(the ones I've read have been superb, though) but I've been ill over the past
couple of weeks.
Anyway, happy holidays to you all...
Emily

Hi all,
Listened to the first half then had to go out. Can't listen to the
second half because my daughter's hogging the vcr ;(. sounded pretty
good to me.
Anyway, I'm happy to provide a copy of the programme on audiocassette to
someone to the west of the pond who is prepared to make copies for y'all
over there. Either email me or perhaps Bill may wish to coordinate? It
probably wont be sent until after Christmas.
Happy Christmas all (none of that pc here :))
