Jennifer,
In keeping with the times ---
I think Rita "read" in the early 80's, and "wrote" in the late 80's...

Wards' house brand of guitars were actually called Airline. Silvertone
and Airline were both kind of cheesy, but if you were growing up in a
small town with no music store, they were about the only affordable
electric guitars a kid could dream about. Some of them were actually
quite playable, if you didn't expect too much from them. A friend of
mine recently found an old Silvertone at a pawn shop and put heavy
strings on it and he says it's the best slide guitar he ever had.
A long time ago I wrote Nanci at her old fan club address and asked her
about the Wards/Silvertone discrepany....she still hasn't answered!
Merry Christmas. y'all!

Subject: NN: Correction? and Christmas Greetings
From: Rob Schrull (RSchrull@gbla.com>
Hi Folks:
Greetings from the road. This time the sunshine state.
Nanci called the other night. She sounds great and happy. Had a nice visit
with her. I can't remember what date I gave you all for when she is
travelling to London to record with the Symphony, but in case I was wrong,
it is in April. They'll be doing some recording here prior to.
Says she's signing a bunch of books, that Nashville is COLD, and sends her
best to you all for the holidays.
Of course I send mine to you as well and hope 1999 gives you health,
happiness and every good thing.
All the best,
Rob

Jean Redpath
Richard, thanks for the information on Jean Redpath. I haven't of heard of
her in years, pleased that she's still going strong. Over here, she is
mostly known for her interpretations of the songs and poems of Robert Burns
(Scotland's National Poet).
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and an even better New Year!
Bye,
Charlie Maconald

(( Come on Jack, the son-of-a-bitch is coming" >>
I have it on good authority that Jerry Jeff was referring to the janitor that
comes to clean out the studio at the end of the recording session. An
imposing fella with an unpleasant mother. Apparently if you over stay your
prescribed time the said gentleman will deal with you in a less than
gentlemanly manner. Jerr Jeff was therefore hurrying along the musicians in
order that they could make a clean getaway before his arrival. It's
TRUE!!!!!
Okay so I made it up. Sue me!!! Gordon
ps. I am still accepting tapes for the originals project. I know it's holiday
season so I will be extending the deadline through the end of January. (true
meaning.... geez I am so frazzled at the moment I am going to have put this
off until I have time to deal with it).

Subject: NN: Del McCoury Lyrics/Introduction
From: Daniel Horan (Daniel.Horan@att.net>
Hello,
I read the digest, and have regularly for over a year, and have
never introduced myself...so, as long as I'm about to ask a question I
figured I should say "hello"! Nanci is, by far, my favorite singer, and
of course I have all of her albums and videos and then some.
However...what I wanted to find out was is anyone happens to know the
lyrics and/or chords the song "Blue Darlin" by the Del McCoury Band...
Thank You,
--Daniel
