The "Stone Country'" CD is really bad. "No Expectations" is far from
my favorite Nanci song, but it is still worth the price of the CD. If
Nanci sang the Manhatten phone book, it would be worth buying. How many
of us shelled out over $30. for The Last Temptation of Elvis for just
"Wooden Heart"? There's little else listenable on that CD.,but it IS
Nanci!!!!

At the risk of missing out on some future deals, I'm going to share one of
my sources for Nanci items. It's Rock Island Records in Tampa, Florida.
I've felt guilty over the number of times I've seen older tour books, etc.
listed in their ads. so get your pencils and paper ready! According to
their most current print ad they have a Nanci Griffith Retrospective tour
book $8, Flyer tourbook $7, they also listed the Other Voices tourbook and
Blue Roses on their web site at similar prices. If you need a copy of the
Blue Roses album on CD its only $9 (send some to friends). They also have
some good prices on some of Nanci's promo singles (usually $5 or less).
Somebody at this store must be a Nanci fan or at least they have an
intelligent clientele that makes them keep stocking Nanci items. You
probably won't find the rarer stuff here but I always check this place for
new items.

Tell them you got this information from me... one of their mail order
customers (they'll think I'm some marketing genius with the flood of Nanci
orders). Who knows maybe they'll give me a discount on my next order.
Their phone is 813-968-3866 e-mail rockisland@musicparadise.com They have
a searchable web site at www.musicparadise.com

Have fun...

Mike

p.s. I could sure use some help tracking down Nanci's import singles can
anyone out there help? I've got posters and things to trade or can hunt
down U.S. stuff for you overseas collectors!

Hello everybody,

have just found this on the net and am enjoying reading all the news about
Nanci. I am a great fan of hers here in England, got all the albumns, seen
every tour.
Is it true that Nanci will not tour again ?????? How will we Brits, [and her
favourites in Ireland], cope with that ? You people in the US have a big
advantage with more concerts and Videos etc. Maybe we will have to time our
visits to the US to co-incide with shows, we visit almost every year, we have
'folks' in Arkansas [somebody has to] and New Mexico.

I am surprised to see that Beth Neilsen Chapman is not on the list of
alternatives to listen to, try 'Sand and Water' it has the same effect on me
as many of Nanci's more poignant songs.

I am not a great fan of the net and this is the first time I have tried to
'join' in with other people so will keep this short and maybe add a
perspective from our side of the Atlantic later.

Nice to meet you Bob Greene rhg899@aol.com

Hi All,

I am limited to the digest version of the Nancinet so forgive me if
this has already been discussed. Yesterday on the radio, for the first
time, I heard Nanci singing "If I Had A Hammer" from the Pete Seeger
tribute album. It sounds like she is singing with quite a crowd.
Does anyone know who she is singing with in the second verse.

                                Doug in L.A.

I have an extra OVOR tour book that I'd like to trade for some other
Nanci item or items, Does anyone have an offer?
