interesting and varied bunch they are. >>

Hello John,

I read with great interest your U. S. shopping list. Most of the musicians you
praised I am not familiar with.

To you and other Nanci-netters, I'd like to recommend to the stars an album I
just bought: Deana Carter's new album, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."

I've been playing it over and over. The CD has first-rate fresh country
songs, loaded with sophistication, warmth, and subtleties. There are jazz
harmonies--as in the lush title song, written by Deana's guitarist dad, Fred
Carter; a haunting, melancholy song written by the great Matraca Berg ("Ruby
Brown") with Matraca singing background; delicious sliding vocal hamonies
("Angels Working Overtime"); and judicious and amusing stutterings ("The Train
Song") similar to the interrupted phrases of Nanci's "Nobody's Angel."

I think this is a country album that will definitely appeal to fans on the
"folk" side of the musical spectrum, as well as to fans of jazz.

Best to all,

Ron Hennessy

Subject: NN: Re: NanciNet T-Shirts
   From: Shawn Kimbro (kimbro@planetc.com>

Hi Folks,

Things are progressing well for the NanciNet T-Shirts. I met with the
printer today and she tells me they'll have the first batch ready in
about two weeks. Orders are trickling in. I'll encourage everyone to
send your orders as early as possible so I can get your shirts back
quickly. Remember, the deadline for orders is July 1. Here are answers
to the most frequently asked questions:

Dear Shawn, I don't know what a NanciNet shirt looks like, could you
model one and post a picture. Signed, Lonely in Lubbock

Dear Lonely, I only model with my shirt off. But there's a picture of
Mike Cogliandro's NN logo, along with ordering instructions at:
	http://www.geocities.com/~trailzzone/tshirt.html

Dear Shawn, I am a fat man in Chicago, what sizes do the shirts come in
and what color are they. Signed, The Whiz

Dear Whiz, You'll be happy to know the shirts are white (although the
design is very colorful). Oh, and they come in Lg, XL, 2X, and 3X.

Dear Shawn, I spilled spaghetti sauce on my NN T-shirt, what should I
do? Signed, Mamma Mia

Dear Mamma, Tomato sauce should wash out of the 100% heavyweight cotton,
if it doesn't, try selling it on E-Bay.

Dear Shawn, Girls don't notice me, will a NanciNet t-shirt help? Signed,
Nerdy Ned

Dear Ned, These shirts have been outlawed as an illegal aphrodisiac in
Mexico. The special weave is designed to keep body odor in, while
blitzing her senses with stimulating pheremones. The longer you wear
it, the better it gets.

Warm Regards,
-Shawn

Subject: Re: NN: OFSE Video Quality?
   From: PhotoTwang@webtv.net (Richard Hill)

I bought the laser-disc version of "One Fair Summer Evening", several
years ago, expecting a great quality video (because it was an LD), but
what I got was the same visual disappointment that y'all are talking
about with the VHSs. Of course the performances of Nanci, along with
Denice Franke, make up for the picture quality.

However (only slightly off-topic / y'all love Joni too), allow me to
highly recommend the 98 minute DVD, "Painting With Words And Music" by
Joni Mitchell (with Brian Blade, Mark Isham, Larry Klein, and Greg
Leisz. VERY high qualty all the way around: performance / sound / video.
First rate!

Richard
(you never know what sort of riff-raff they'll let post here)
