Subject: WELCOME TO THE ALL NEW NANCIGRIFFITH.COM
   Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2003 13:42:31 -0600
   From: info (info@nancigriffith.com>

Welcome to the all new NanciGriffith.com! We've been hard at work the last
few months, giving the site a brand new look and feel. We've also added
several new features that make it easier to use and better than ever before.
We think it's been worth the wait, and hope you enjoy it!

You'll immediately notice a new feature on the Home page called Quick
Tracks. It will include an ever-changing selection of Nanci music, videos,
live recordings, etc. There is also a list of upcoming tour dates on the
Home page for quick and easy reference. The Tour section has undergone a few
changes, giving you the ability to click through to venue maps and ticket
information. The Gallery has been updated, and we've even added some new
desktop wallpaper.

We've also revamped and upgraded our Message Board. We have even brought in
a couple of great administrators and moderators to help oversee things.

Unfortunately you'll have to re-register (we couldn't import all the old
message board information), but we think you'll really like how the new
board functions.

One of the biggest changes you'll notice is in the Discography section. In
addition to making it more complete, we've made it easier to browse Nanci's
catalogue of music, with links for song lyrics and mp3's (bear with us as we
continue to upload literally hundreds of song snippets and lyrics).

Finally, the new Five & Dime store is up, and we encourage you to pick up
lots of Nanci stuff! The tour merchandise section is coming VERY soon, so
stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by. We hope you love the site as much as we do!

Subject: Good Night New York Video Released
   Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2003 14:00:23 -0600
   From: info (info@nancigriffith.com>

Nanci has released a music video for the song "Good Night New York" from
Winter Marquee. The video combines live concert footage from the DVD with
some wonderful archival film of New York City, and is as moving as the song
itself.

It is currently in rotation at CMT Canada, Great American Country, and on a
few smaller video outlets across the country. But CMT in America hasn't
added it yet, so be sure to e-mail and call them. Let's get it on the
air!!!

Here are the links so you can request the video, over and over again!

CMT USA
http://www.cmt.com/cmt/request/mwl.jhtml

CMT CANADA
http://www.cmtcanada.com/connect/index.asp

Great American Country
http://www.countrystars.com/CRL/index.html

You can view the video from the home page in the Quick Tracks section, or
from the discography section. It's a big file, so be patient, and enjoy!

Finally, CMT Canada plans to air the entire "Winter Marquee" Concert later
in the spring. As soon as we know a specific date and time, we'll be sure
to post it here in the news section!

Anyone out there attending the Feb 5th event at the Ryman Auditorium in
Nashville, TN? Nanci is listed on her web site at being part of the gaggle
of singers stepping up to the microphone that evening.

Well, I'm just back from the store trying to decide whether to buy Winter
Marquee in DVD or CD, though with my present employment status, I'll
probably table the purchase a little longer. Any leads on jobs in CA that
can use an MBA/MS Engineering type (and can forgive that all my many years
of experience are in two basically dead industries, namely, Aerospace and
Web) are all greatly welcomed:)...

Life is mostly sweet though - the weather at my home of San Luis Obispo was
spectacular over the weekend (probably high 70's to low 80's and crystal
clear, so I'm feeling for those cold weather places right now) - with the
only bitter part is I had to return to the Inland Empire area of CA until
this economy recovers...

BTW, I did purchase a DVD copy of Springsteen's "Live in New York City" over
the weekend (the used price was just too good to pass) and this reviewer
says two thumbs up on that one...

Back to lurking...

Well, since you ask - here in the southern hemisphere it's sweltering! If
you watched the Australian Open coverage on TV this weekend, you may well
have heard reference to 105 degree temperatures, which is what is forecast
for tomorrow (in the shade, that is). Half the country is on fire and around
500 houses have been lost in the capital city.

As for me, I've recently got back from celebrating my 50th birthday (yikes!)
in Sydney, where it all began. Amongst other things, I had a music buying
spree which included albums/CDs by Kim Richey, Dee Carstensen, Bjork, The
Pixies, Beth Gibbons and a John Prine vinyl "best of". And a Vanessa
Paradis concert DVD, a must for all...erm...serious music lovers! All good
stuff.

There's a long weekend ahead and life's pretty much OK - seeing Wilco live
on Sunday night and in a couple of weeks we have Dylan, Beth Orton, Ani di
Franco and a host of others appearing at the Melbourne festival - see:
http://www.musicmelbourne.com.au/ if you're interested. I can't wait!

Keep warm, everyone - I know *I* will.

Wow, mindless drivel, the NanciNet I've missed!

I'm drinking a cup of JFG while listening to Tony Bennett/K.D. Lang and
wondering how the heck I landed here and why the hell I paid 150.00 bucks
for those Cher tickets on the fridge!

An' you what -- you guys are right...it is good.

It is 30 degrees in Austin (it was 79 earlier in the week) and so I've
decided to work at home today, rather than making the six block walk to my
little rented office in back of the Sierra Club building. It's too bad I'm
not there today, because I would really like to know if the rooster my
office-mate Larry brought in yesterday has made a return visit. No kidding,
a rooster. There's a patch of fenced yard in back and yesterday, the rooster
spent the day clucking and crowing his way around it, looking for
girlfriends. What a great office vibe I have.
Have any of you ever had the chance to observe "Take Your Rooster to Work
Day"? I don't think so.

So I've made a pot of italian roast coffee and fired up the Web server (it
crashed AGAIN last night). After I read the news of the nation and of the
computer world, I'll be working on my Web site. I'm looking forward to a
laid back kind of workday.

Well.. as always, late to the party..

but...

I am currently listening to Clock Without Hands, singing along with our Miss
Nanci, feeling contentment and disparaging about my cold feet. I can never
find socks when I need them the most. Isn't that just the way?

Cheers.

Right now? Why, checking e-mail of course. Also getting the 15 year old
ready for school and preparing for a day that will climax with a airplane
out of Burbank to Oakland with my two sons to join their mother in San
Francisco. She is working at a doll show, we are gadding about the City for
the weekend.

Patti Scialfa's Rumble Doll in the CD player.

Happy weekend all!

Well, while everyone is drinking coffee, I'm sitting here drinking a diet
coke, it's 11 degrees F outside and there is a plumber climbing around under
the house cutting out that hot water line that burst last night. I thought
I lived in the South for the warm weather...

I'm covered in black muck from clearing my gutters, but having a politically
incorrect coffee and listening to my new Kathleen Edwards record as I
contemplate how to clean up before going to see Damien Barber ("guitar like
Nic Jones") tonight, and feeling smug to have booked tickets for Richard
Thompson, Kim Richey, Kris Delmhorst and Show of Hands but, apart from that
and some other things, life can be grim at times, especially for other
people.

Speaking of mindless drivel, what classifies coffee as politically
incorrect? Decaffinated?

I finally decided I just had to join in this discussion...if only to
exorcise the demons besetting me at the moment.
I am sitting here, drinking my instant coffee, made with water my neighbor
gave me since my pipes are frozen solid. News that the Roto Rooter man only
charged $35 to give me...along with the information that I must wait for
warmer weather to thaw them as they are plastic and cannot be thawed any
other way.

I am also typing and watching my words show up several seconds later on
screen as I am STILL waiting for the hard drive I have ALREADY paid for to
be installed by the guy who has ALREADY been paid to install it...only a
MONTH AND A HALF AGO!!!!!!!!
Sorry...I am just a teeny bit irate over this situation.

But...considering I am still waiting for the repair work from where the tree
fell on my home three years ago to be finished...I think I am handing the
delay on the new hard drive surprisingly well.

My kid is still asleep, and my car still needs to go to the shop and
I...darn, the list just goes on and on!

Obviously this is the time to put on a Nanci album, shut my eyes and become
lost in the music rather than the troubles in my life. Come to think of it,
as long as I can put Nanci on the stereo, all my problems are minor ones.

Take care all.

American Cancer Society.

Any helpful hints from the NNet?

I am trying to stay warm. Here in Ohio it is colder than Alaska at this
time. HMMM! I wonder...no better stay, the grass isn't always greener.

Celebrating Ohio State's victory, mourning the Browns (not really).

God Bless and stay warm.

Hey, y'all...

If you're planning on making your reservation at La Quinta for Katefest
aught three, you need to do so right away. The special rate will no be good
for a couple more days.

Even if you're not sure, go ahead and reserve while you can, and then you
can cancel later if you wish.

Once again, the number is:

> Block confirmation number: 540 454 82
> La Quinta Inn, Medical Center, Memphis
> Group rate: $49 plus tax
> Reservation name: Moonpie (doh!)
> Call: 800-531-5900

Let me know if you've made reservations, so I can keep up with the
block...it'd be great to have to ask them to add more rooms!

I was trying to get a copy of the song by Eric Taylor "Strong Enough for
Two" and have not been able to locate a CD. Does anyone know where I can get
one or would someone be will to burn one for me? I will pay for the CD and
S&H. I heard the song performed on Public TV and have it on VHS. I would
love to use it as the theme song for my American Cancer Society Relay for
Life team.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

one song...does anyone out there who has a CD burner have a copy of the
Rolling Stones song, 'Paint It Black'?

I just want the one song...if you do have a copy and a burner...can you make
me a listening copy of the song to tide me over till I can buy an album with
the song on it?

If you can, email me.
Thanks,

It's from the CD "Resurrect", which appears to be available direct from Eric
via http://www.bluerubymusic.com/.

Or you could check the tour schedule. If he's playing near you, he's well
worth seeing live and you could probably pick up a copy at the show.

In the interest of balancing the world's weather I report temp of 41 deg.
Celsius on my veranda in dear old sunny Australia. Feeding sheep daily as
the "worst drought in 100 years' rolls on. Last rain on New Years Day & too
little then to be of any use. Spent four days so far fighting bushfires in
our area that have been going for 3 weeks, the sun is a red ball due to
continual smoke haze. Over 500 families homeless less than 1 hour
away...houses burnt down.
But enough of this gloom...pleasure's still being gained from the wonderful
"Home" with the Dixies, Eva's "Imagine " & revisits to our beloved Nanci.

Hangin' in there...kind regards to ya'll.........Barry.

Barry --
So sorry to hear about the horrible times everyone is going through over
there. There is so little we can complain about here on this end right
now. While your neighbors watch their homes go up in flames, we are
contemplating the pros and cons of our latest State of the Union
address...war mongering, anyone?

Your description of your life is that of hard work --- I am so very
jealous!! I'd rather clean up the poop of a thousand sheep some days than
to sit in an air-conditioned office in the brutal corporate world. And
Hyacinth, my Welsh Corgi puppy would help us herd them all...:):))

Here's hoping that the weather gods have mercy on your continent soon and
that your plight gets better and that Nanci, Eva and the Dixie Chicks may
continue to comfort you on that end of the world, just as they do on this
end.

Pray for peace, everyone.
