I've been having great trouble getting these messages through.
Bill tells me it's because I mail in HTML format, so here's a
plain text one in the hope it will reach its intended audience.
Hearts in Mind is due out in the UK on 11th October and play.com
are advertising it at the ludicrously low price of #5.99 brand
new.
www.bbc.co.uk/radioscotland then click Iain Anderson and his
playlists of last week. Iain has played 3 songs from the new
album already. A very fine review can be found at
www.americana-uk.com and then go to cd reviews.

P.S. Perhaps the NN will be revitalised by the arrival of
"Hearts In Mind"

Well Nanci is back and how. This is based on one play of her new
record "Hearts in Mind". The production is less ornate than many
of her recent records and the sound is more organic and almost
back to those early records. Of course technology has moved on
since those days in the early 80's, but this record sounds
great. There is less of her 'tough Texas' pronunciation, her
voice more natural than in many a good year.
As for the actual songs, well there are thirteen. Eight are
Nancis', either written alone or co-written, of which "Last
Train Home" makes its studio debut, having first appeared on
"Winter Marquee". Of the 5 outside contributions there is the
Tom Kimmel/Jennifer Kimball composition "Angels", Clive
Gregsons' "I Love This Town", Ron Davies' "Rise To The
Occasion", Le Ann Etheridges' "Back When Ted Loved Sylvia" and
Julie Golds' "Mountain Of Sorrow".
From the glorious acoustic guitar/dobro opening of "A Simple
Life", this is Nanci in the best voice of the last decade, and
I'll wait to see if the songs stand the test of repeated playing
(I suspect they will), but I think many will rejoice in the
rebirth of our 'Queen of folkabilly'. Doug Lancio returns on
electric guitar and various other stringed instruments, while
Pat McInerney (who co-produced with Nanci) remains on the drum
stool. Ron De La Vega is on bass, Le Ann Etheridge on harmonies
and acoustic guitar and of course James Hooker adorns us with
his
keyboards, and Clive Gregson various stringed instruments and
accordion.

I am trying to locate the person with whom I swapped Music CDS
with. I didn't actually get my CD's sent out until sometime the
first part of 2003. I sent Rosanne Cash, Caitlin Cary, Lucinda
Williams and Maria Muldaur. Will that person contact me ASAP!
Thanks a million!
What has been wrong with Nancinet lately? This is the
third time I've tried to send this post!

I've been diligently working to understand this myself. When
administrative list requests are rejected because the
world.std.com domain is "not found," there's a problem.
Imagine being the guy paying for the privilege of this
frustration!

>> BLUE MOON ALERT: Mount St. Helens in Washington is spewing ash
and steam, and scientists say a bigger eruption could happen
soon. This means sky watchers in western North America should be
alert for blue moons in the weeks ahead. Airborne particles from
volcanoes can act like a color-filter, shading the moon (or even
the sun) blue. Follow the links at spaceweather.com for more
information.
