This topic does seem to come up on this list occasionally, not very
often, and in no regular order...one might say, once in a very blue moon
:-)

I prefer this link which goes into ancient interpretations of the term.
Enjoy

Hey folks,

As many of you know, I've only been semi successful in converting my
daughters (now both quasi-adults) to being Nanci Nuts. Both of them
listen to her music occasionally, but both of them have other
(acoustic!) favorites (elder daughter is quite fond of Kate Wolf).

So I was bemused yesterday when elder daughter told me that at work (she
is a marine biologist) they were making a group of small nets with which
to catch fish specimens in Lake Michigan. She announced to Dawn-Marie
and me that:

"Since the person who created the pattern
    we're using is named "Nancy,"
what we are really doing is making "Nancy Nets."

Great story Bill. The sort that warms the cockles of ones heart. Now how
do they catch cockles?

I don't know how I had missed this absolutely great
song. Finally broke down and purchased The Complete
MCA Recordings which leads off with Tumble and Fall
(even though I have each of the MCA Albums
individually on CD). What a great song...I think it
rates up there with one of her Top 5 Best tunes.
Anyone know the chords to this? For those who haven't
heard it I am including the words!

TUMBLE AND FALL

Your late night conversation
telephone call and an inspiration
for a heart to recall
how to tumble and fall
And my friends all say I'm lazy
I'm clumsy at love and I'm middle aged crazy
I stumble along
to the tumble and fall

Well maybe I'll come to my senses
I'll come back to you when the fences are mended
maybe love is a quiet whisper after all
maybe love is a heart that gives you
harmony when you can't recall
the melody to the song
your just singing along
yes, I'll sing along to the tumble and fall

I remember San Francisco
the chill of the moon through an open window
and the beat of your heart
to a tumble and fall
You say I'm a little something you always needed
You're tried and true and I should believe
in the strength of your arms
when I tumble and fall

So maybe I'll come to my senses
I'll come back to you when the fences are mended
maybe love is a quiet whisper after all
Maybe love is a heart that gives you
harmony when you can't recall
the melody to the song
your just singing along
yes and I've sang along
to the tumble and fall

I mean...jeezzzz....what lyrics....I still remember
San Francisco...the chill of the moon through an open
window.....FANTASTIC!!
