Shelly's Podcast
Take one opinionated technology writer with way too many
iPods and Macs, toss with stories of life in Austin,
Texas, and stir in a tablespoon of skeptical commentary
on everything from pop culture to politics. Once you've
added a dash of chat about life as a visually impaired
person living off the "disability grid", you've got
Shelly's Podcast, the tech podcast for people who don't
listen to tech podcasts. For dessert, there's great
music, and an occasional guest.
Shelly's
Podcast consistently ranks among the top 30 podcasts at
Podcast Pickle, and finished in the Top Ten in the Pickle's
first Podcast Wars competition, beating out more than
1800 other shows. Shelly's Podcast began on December 30,
2004, and celebrates its 100th show in October 2006. It is a member of The Trypod Network.
Road to Denver
A podcast and blog chronicling my attempt to become a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Tracy-Hepburn Podcast
Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn were the greatest acting team in film history. they shared a 26-year professional and personal relationship that is the stuff of legend. Even today, their names are invoked by those who want to lend an air of class to a romantic comedy pairing. The Tracy-Hepburn Podcast celebrates their lives and their work, featuring news, reviews, and interviews of interest to fans. We cover new books and articles about Tracy and Hepburn, DVD releases, and special events. The show featured and interview with Tony Award-winning actor Rene Auberjonois, who starred with Kate on Broadway in CoCo.
Hollywood on the Radio
This weekly podcast takes a look at
the intersection of classic
Hollywood film and old-time radio. I
play old radio shows featuring
classic Hollywood film stars and adaptations of classic movies.
I introduce each show with a short history lesson about the actors, the radio series being featured, of the tie-in between this radio show and the film world.
iPorng Radio (7/06-11/06)
Brought to you by iProng.com, "voice of the iPod generation". Each week's show features news and reviews of all things iPod, along with special guests from the worlds or music, podcasting, and the iPod industry, and in-depth features.
I recorded, edited, produced, and co-hosted the show's first 21 episodes.
Guests have included Duran Duran's John Taylor, singer/songwriter Pete Yorn, Cali Lewis from the hugely successful GeekBrief.TV video podcast, and Adam Christianson from The MacCast. We produced five live podcasts at the 2006 Podcast and Portable Media Expo.
Shows To Which I contribute
Podcast Morons
Beginning podcasters rely on Podcast Morons for news and tips from a rotating cast of experienced producers. The current Podcast Morons' staff consists of former members of the Podcast Outlaws, a group devoted to finding and showcasing great podcasts. We are all passionate about podcasting, and equally passionate about helping newcomers navigate both the technical and aesthetic side of producing a regular show. Therir's no jargon here, just good avice delivered by people who love the medium.
Hey, Want To Watch A Movie?
Just for fun, we gather a group of friends--usually podcasters--put a movie in the DVD player, and chat on skype while the film plays. Think of it as MST3K without the protection of copyright and trademark.
Past films include Top Gun, Back to the Future, Captain Blood, and Willow.
Quirky Nomads
It's a little bit fiction, a little bit observational commentary, and a few other undefinable things. My voice can sometimes be heard reading something I've written, sometimes reading the contributions of others, and occasionally, doing a bit of voice acting.
A Fresh Review
Regrettably, this project has been dormant lately. The show featured a small group of reviewers offering their opinions on padcasts.
Podcast411
Rob interviewed me way back when I only had two podcasts, in October 2005.
Podcast Christmas Carol
In December 2005, podcasters got together to write and produce their own version of the Dickens classic. I was one of the writers, and played a part.
