It’s been ten days and I still haven’t seen an iPhone. I’ve been inside a few AT&T stores, where circumstances and extremely dim clerks have conspired to prevent my laying hands on the thing. Getting to an Apple Store, while possible, takes a long time, and I just haven’t been able to spare time for the two round-trip bus rides that would be required. Early on, I read the iPhone reviews. A colleague of mine, who works part-time for the magazine, has put very strict boundaries around the hours she’s willing to work. I don’t blame her. In fact, I encouraged her to do this, so that neither of us would be eaten alive by the work. I’ve never had a profound interest in having my own blog. When you write for a living, expressing yourself through a blog isn’t at the top of your list–or maybe that’s just me. In any case, I’ve been content to use my podcast to speak to the world. But it seems that more and more often, something needs saying that doesn’t quite fit into the show, or into the blog I maintain at work. As I’ve said so many times before, including my first podcast, let’s see how this goes.
